Training Style

Classes at Me,We Shinjuku are built around clear technical instruction with plenty of time to drill and apply techniques. The session I attended focused on spider guard, and the coaches broke the details down in a way that beginners could follow while still giving experienced grapplers deeper layers to work with. The instruction was patient, precise, and structured so everyone could build confidence before moving into live rounds.

Training highlights:

  • Highly technical instruction with attention to detail

  • A friendly and relaxed vibe that makes learning easy

  • Drilling with purpose and clear progression

  • Live rounds that are safe, respectful, and paced according to skill level

This is a gym where you can train hard without feeling pressured or out of place. The black and brown belts take the time to work with visitors, help refine positions, and make sure every round feels productive.

My Experience

My time training at Me,We Shinjuku was a great experience. The vibe is friendly, focused, and built around solid technical learning. The coaches set a positive tone for the room and the students follow that lead. Everyone was respectful, welcoming, and easy to train with.

The class I attended was centered on spider guard, and the instruction was highly detailed. The black and brown belts did an excellent job of breaking down the positions and helping students understand the mechanics behind each movement. They adjusted the level of challenge based on who they were working with, and they made sure visitors were learning and improving throughout the session.

Live rounds were well paced and matched to skill level, which made the training productive without feeling overwhelming. It is the kind of place where beginners feel comfortable, visitors feel included, and experienced grapplers get meaningful work.

If you are in Tokyo and want a solid place to train, Me,We Shinjuku is definitely worth checking out.
