Vibe

A very beginner‑friendly and well-structured environment. He taught a series of very technical and well explained half guard passes in the gi. He was very detailed in his explanation and gave everyone plenty of time to practice the techniques.

Facilities

Clean, well‑maintained facility with two changing rooms and two showers to use. There were lockers next to teh mats to keep your stuff as well.

Decent sized mat space that comfortably supports multiple matches at once.

Reaching out via their website to email them before visiting is recommended.

Staff speaks mostly Japanese but is very accommodating.

Training Style

Technical instruction with plenty of time to drill and apply techniques in live scenarios.

Sparring intensity is self‑paced — competitive but always safe and respectful.

Good For

Tri-Force Sapporo is a newer and growing location with great instruction. I think this team is great for people who are new to grappling and want to grow in their skills. There were only white and blue belts on the day that I went so I cannot speak for how many higher belted students that they have.

My Experience

Training with Tri-Force Sapporo was a good experience and I got to learn some half guard passing techniques that I was not familiar with yet. The entire place is very clean and well maintained and felt very comfortable to be in. Daisuke Fujita was very kind and accommodating and ran a great class in my opinion. I had fun sparring with all of the students and they were all very eager to learn and gave each roll their best without trying to hurt anyone. I do not know if they have a lot of higher belted students yet, but I think they are going grow into a strong and technical team. Overall, I am glad I got to drop in and meet all of them.
