Our inaugural Okinawa Invitational in 2024 featured eight of Okinawa’s top local purple belts competing in the gi, showcasing sharp technique, island pride, and the depth of Okinawa’s grappling scene. The event marked the beginning of a new tradition—bringing together local talent, energizing the BJJ community, and setting the tone for high-level competition on the island. Jude Cruz emerged as the champion, earning the title with skill, composure, and a standout performance that set the bar for future events.
