Vibe

This team is very focused on producing high level fighters and world champions such as their rising UFC Star Tatsuro Taira. There are plenty of beginner friendly classes, but there are also classes geared towards pushing the pace and technique of the fighters. Everyone is very welcoming and kind, while also training hard and take this seriously as it is their profession.

Facilities

Beautifully clean and styled gym, well‑maintained facility with separate men’s and women’s showers and toilets, men’s and women’s locker rooms.

Large mat space that comfortably supports multiple matches at once as well as an MMA cage.

Visitor Notes

Drop‑in fee varies depending on the class.

Reaching out via social media before visiting is recommended.

Staff speaks Japanese

Training Style

Technical instruction with plenty of time to drill and apply techniques in live scenarios.

Coaches are hands‑on, attentive, and quick to clarify details when needed.

Sparring intensity is self‑paced — competitive but always safe and respectful.

Good For

Grapplers of all skill levels but be sure to choose the right class to attend, some classes are for beginners, and some are for professionals. Whether you’re looking for a home gym or just dropping in to make new friends, this location is highly recommended.

My Experience

The Black Belt is a team that I have trained with on several occasions and every single time has been great. They are one of the most respectful and professional groups I have ever met, and they will always bring a great level of skill and intensity to their training sessions. No matter if you are training with one of their younger blue belts or a more seasoned black belt, you will see how seriously they take their training and how skilled everyone is. The Black Belt is truly a pillar of the Okinawan MMA scene and a must visit for anyone wanting to train with professional, world class fighters.
